Ja Ja

ah, there is nothing like a good licking to get the party started. the lickee is phil mcavity or phil mccracken, can't remember which... and then there's slapsy, the licker. phil has a very manly career and works on power lines. power line men have to wear all sorts of protective clothing like rubber gloves, capes and leotards. he may have a super-hero career but mr mcavity runs like a girl. he also seems to enjoy the occasional lick up the side of the face.


this is my new friend miranda. i like miranda. she said i have pretty hair and she liked my shoes. she is from the continent of africa like many other lovely people we met at the braai we went to on saturday arvo. i have always felt akin to those from africa, not sure why, maybe because my mum was born in zambia and grew up in zimbabwe? however, it is strange after spending an evening with them, you end up talking like them.

'ja man, we must mek a plen to hev another cool drink and some biltong just now, eh?'

we grew up with mum singing songs like 'ag pleez deddy' and using words like 'tackies' (sneakers), 'indaba' (a council or meeting of indigenous peoples of southern Africa to discuss an important matter) and 'mootie' (medicine). that was all fine, except we didn't know they weren't english and no one knew what we were on about!


in other news, the gods are shining on us and our company move date has finally been set! we are moving to bra-ton and will be moving on friday 23rd march with a view to starting there on the 26th. this will cut my travelling time by about an hour a day. exciting stuff. for me anyway.
